Laws of Marketing
Even if you've never taken any interest in science, you've probably heard of Isaac Newton or Albert Einstein. These geniuses, and a large number of
others, observed the world and universe about them and concluded that the behaviour they saw was governed by various Laws.
Others, in other fields, have observed and concluded too, and postulated Laws of their own to explain and predict behaviour in their own areas of
specialism - For example there are certain Laws of Business. Marketing is no exception. There are Laws, or rules of Marketing too.
Please let me clarify. I am not talking about criminal or civil laws here. Nor is this about the ethics of Marketing or a code
of Marketing conduct.
Although there are a relatively large number of these Laws of Marketing, knowledge of them and the resulting knowledge that you are not attempting
to break them, will guide any organisation's Marketing towards its goals.
By embracing the Laws of Marketing, businesses are able to back certain winners, stop chasing impossible goals, minimise the likelihood of competitors
chasing the same order, and take business away from the few competitors that remain.
