Well you wouldn't be Marketing for a loss now, would you!  Or would you?  Would you be failing to make your company profits?  Wouldn't you be Marketing for Business Success.

If everything in a business that isn't directly concerned with doing what you do, or with managing the money, is Sales and Marketing, and if Sales is part of the broader spectrum of Marketing, then maybe!  You could be experimenting with loss leaders to encourage larger purchases of more profitable items!

But let's concentrate on Marketing for Sales and for financial profit.  You must be supplying what people want, at a price below the value it delivers to them, at a price which makes you a profit.

You must allow people to become aware of you and your products and services, to become familiar with you and to discover what sets yours apart from other solutions.

People will then indicate to you their intent to purchase and you must interact with them to create their first purchase.  After this you must give them the freedom and the comfort to keep buying from you and to tell their friends, if not the whole world, about you.
