Trust development is a strange thing.  Some seem to find themselves building trust in people very quickly, almost before a conversation has started, whilst others will claim it takes a long time to build.

It is certain that people have to trust people before they are likely to buy from them.  What is also certain is that trust can be shattered far more rapidly than it can be built, and that re-building will generally take longer than initial construction.

Trust consists of three elements, each with its own different timescale.  One happens in seconds and another in minutes, so it can't be either of these that causes trust to take a long time to establish.  The third element can take weeks or months if you let it, but it can be accelerated down to hours or days if you know how.
